| In-Crowd Boxers is a small, in-home kennel that came into being in 1959, when Anthony Bertolino started showing a Boxer he purchased from Archie & Trella White of Helixview Kennels in San Diego. Archie and Trella became his friends and mentors, teaching him about a correct Boxer and how to present his Boxer in the show ring. He purchased his first Boxer in 1949 when he was just a child, but it wasn't until he purchased his first show dog from the White's that he became active in Boxers. Anthony likes to joke that he has been showing Boxers for so long that when he started, the win pictures were only in black and white! Although In-Crowd does not produce many litters, when they do, they are well thought out, to include health, temperament and longevity. Anthony's thoughts have always been quality, not quantity. In-Crowd only produces a litter every 2 to 4 years. Currently, they have six generations residing together, with the oldest being "Swinger", In-Crowds Swingin Affair, who is 15 years old (Swinger has since passed away at the age of 15 years, 2 months and 5 days old in September, 2002). All of the In-Crowd Boxers are part of the family. Anthony points out that the best part of having a litter, is finding just the right home for the pup, which he says, has brought some wonderful people into our lives as puppy buyers. He likes to keep in touch with all of the owners of his puppies, and because of that, has not only been fortunate to find ideal homes for his Boxers, but has also become great friends with their owners. It's like being an extended family. The In-Crowd Boxers are located in Northridge, California... in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, a suburb of Los Angeles. |
